Nick organised this year's cycle tour. His instructions were:
Meet at the Waie Inn, Zeal Monachorum in time to dance at about 11am ( they're actually open from 8am ! ). There's plenty of parking space there, and they do coffees etc. ( 'etc' includes swimming pool, squash courts, adventure playground, food )
Head off about 11:30 towards the Mare & Foal, Yeoford, for dancing and lunch (see later).
Off to the Tom Cobley, Spreyton (open till 4pm).
Back to the Waie Inn - dance, beer, tea, eat, whatever ...
I haven't measured it precisely but it's somewhere in the low twenties of miles, and medium effort ie. it's not flat, but it's not a 'Dartmoor' !
I'll dish out paper route maps on the day. Apart from a short section of pretty good track, it's all on road, ie. you don't need a mountain bike.
No doubt it will become apparent on the day whether anyone is going to 'drive' shotgun.
Lunch at Mare & Foal - below is the list of options they've sent me, strongly suggest you choose something and LET ME KNOW IN ADVANCE, otherwise take your chance on the day.
All went according to plan, culminating in spending our collection on communal chips (not very good value, but appreciated nonetheless) before heading homeward for a very welcome hot bath.
