Bradninch Festival : 14 June 2009
A sunny Sunday afternoon.
We arrived at the Castle for a pint and warm up dance - a dance too far for John K who pulled a leg muscle and was crocked for the rest of the afternoon. Then we headed off to the cricket field for our first stand.
Nicky was the main music, but Shadey turned up and bluffed along as well - pretty impressive, despite his mutterings about not knowing the tunes. Mark also turned out, but not in kit - some pathetic excuse about having gout or something (no, I know it isn't funny ..).
We started dancing on the concrete path at the cricket field, but when the crowd resolutely refused to come to us, we accepted the inevitable and went to dance on the grass. Actually, it wasn't that bad and the audience were quite appreciative.
Then back to the Castle for a free pint (!) and another spot outside the pub followed by a fill-in spot in the pub garden - including our first attempt at the 9 man Boston Sidestep worked pretty well, all things considered.
After that, into the pub for an intense de-briefing session and some cheesy chips.
By this stage Shadey was getting carried away and started a music session !!! It was good. We should have them more often.
