Nick organised the cycle tour this year - and it was excellent.
Starting from the car park at Thorverton, we had two punctures before we even got onto the road - this was followed during the course of the day by a further 3 punctures, more than we'd experienced in total in all the preceding cycle tours.
After about 45 minutes pleasant pedalling we arrived at the Beer Engine, Newton St Cyres, where we (1) had a pint (2) played a few tunes and (3) discovered that we only had 6 available dancers. In spite of this, we bravely danced outside the pub ...
Then, onwards to the Agricultural at Brampford Speke where we (1) had a pint (2) had some lunch and (3) did some dances. After that, down to the river ...
... where the braver (more reckless) members of the side went for a swim.
Then, a brief game of frisbee to warm up again before heading off to Killerton where we (1) had a cup of tea (2) had a piece of cake and (3) did some dances. By this time we were feeling a bit tired and not too keen to dance ... but unfortunately there was quite an enthusiastic audience, so we had to.
Finally, the last stage back to Thorverton (including a couple more punctures) where we were greeted by a sizable audience, some of whom had been waiting at the pub for some time and were feeling very cheerful. This contributed greatly to an enjoyable last stand, where we all completed our 15 dances for the day!
Then ... off home for a nice hot bath.
