SATURDAY 24 MAY 2003
We started with breakfast before partaking of a processional down the road, followed by a dance from each of the teams. After that we went back and had lunch.
Then it was off to Brattleboro, stopping off to dance at a residential home, before dancing at a couple of spots in the main street. This was followed by a pint at a bar next to the river and then a massed display in Brattleboro car park.
Our spot was with two sets for the Upton Stick dance. Extra entertainment was supplied when Simon got hit near the eye and subsequently had to go to hospital to have 5 stitches. There is a certain amount of disagreement as to whether Simon hit himself, or Mike did it for him ... probably best to let that one rest.
We then wandered off into town in search of food. Most of us were relatively unsuccessful in this venture and ended up resorting to McNeill's to drown our sorrows. Then it was back to the camp at Marlboro - a fairly traumatic trip through the gathering gloom.
The evening was spent contra-dancing ... extremely taxing on our brains. Then, we staggered off for another night's sleep.
