Friday, 3.50am. A painfully early start to get to Exeter Airport for 5.30am check in, arriving in Guernsey at about 7.30. Following this, a bus ride to the quay and then an hour's ferry crossing to Sark.
Thus, before 11 we arrived at Bel Air pub - which was open. This was our first scheduled dance spot, but apparently they had not been told. Nevertheless they were very happy to see us and serve us beer.
Most of us were 'indoor camping' at the church hall, about 15mins from the pub, so we headed there to sort out the accommodation, before setting off to check out the festival site.
Our venue was in the next field from the two main marquees, away from the rest of the site, and away from most of the people. Odd.
A representative from Bells and Broomsticks, the local Guernsey side met us and chatted merrily, as did Brighton's Squire.
It was a very small stage, with 'tiles' that moved when stepped on, and was very slippery. Did I mention the slope? But we did our best.
The beer tent was interesting. They had 19 varieties of cider, a bitter and a mild. Unfortunately most of the staff had no idea which was which......
