Pigsty's 25th 2012
A trip to Bristol to celebrate an old friend's birthday.
After a very early start, we arrived in Bristol, desperate for a coffee and a chance to get out of the cold and rain.
Feeling somewhat more cheerful, we then gathered in a big shopping mall for massed dancing. GW attempted the famous triple-storey 'Old Woman Tossed Up'.
Then, lunch at the Piano and Pitcher - a very convivial gathering where we were gradually enveloped by the very soft chairs.
Unfortunately, all good things come to an end, so we had to go out and dance. The rain had stopped, but it was still somewhat chilly.
Moving on from there, via Wetherspoons, we danced a final massed stand before heading off to the Arnolfini for afternoon tea / culture.
In the evening, a splendid meal from our hosts before an excellent ceilidh with Lupercalia including some very interesting, if occasionally challenging, dances.
Then, the long drive back down the M5 to Devon.
An enjoyable and sociable day - lots of reunions with old friends.
